Microphone use is common for Speakers, but the growing popularity ofVideo ChatandOn-line Conferencinghas increased the need to work with Microphones for many more people. In this show, I show you 2 types of Microphones you’re most likely to see, and teach you how to use them.
The first Mic, an Audio TechnicaATR3350, is called a ‘Lavalier’ mic and is commonly seen worn by newscasters. Placement is critical for good sound. The second Mic aSHURE 565SD, technically called a ‘Dynamic’ mic, is used in concerts, podiums, meetings, etc. I don’t believe this mic is manufactured any longer but it’s very similar to the Shure SM58. A Dynamic may be seen with a round wind screen ‘ball’ on the top-end as the one in this show, but also as a straight tube, black or chrome, with or without an on/off switch. Just remember, they have a directional pick-up pattern and require proper aiming & handling to capture good sound.
And then of course, there’s my “One Rule” which You should never forget.
