A Young Speaker + Tech + Confidence= Success at TEDx
A Young Speaker at TEDx is leading the way forward by Personal example. He’s taking advantage of new opportunities to share his discoveries & ideas. Above all, he is speaking at a prestigious event: TEDx. This Training video shows our Hero with something to say and a willingness to say it. Most importantly, this 6th Grade student shows us, and his peers, the possibilities for other young students. Conversationally, he engages us with eye contact and stage movement. He then moves his Presentation along and…
tells his Story using an iPad to reference the points he intends to communicate. And so, his Presentation brings up a new question for You to consider.
Will Tablets become the new notecards or scripts as a Guide for a Presentation or Speech? Is this an idea that you would consider? There’s a strong possibility Tablets will replace paper references for many Presenters. Certainly as Tablet capabilities increase their usefulness will be broadly recognized. Additionally, increasing Speaker & Presentation Apps plus improved Tablet Tech ensures they have a bright future. So, the future looks attractive for Speakers & Presenters in all fields of delivering information.
This Show demonstrates that A Young Speaker at TEDx can participate in making a difference. But now, How about You? It’s clear that anyone, of any age can communicate clearly, effectively, and confidently at a public event. Likewise So can You! You might need some Training and some experience where you might Speak for Free. And that’s OK too. Maybe some content clarification. The Speakers Tools you’ll need to Advocate are available. Training is available in communities across the US in Community Colleges, Toastmasters Meetings and Private Speaking Coaches. Above all, if you’re an adult with years of speaking anxiety, know that with a little effort you can overcome your resistance.
The thought of You speaking in front of a group can be stressful and so you probably avoid it. I’ve met people of all ages in the US & Japan who also avoided Speaking out or Advocating. With some Training, some effort and a Goal in mind, you too can communicate with Confidence.
Remember, Performance of Speaking skills are Learnable. It doesn’t take long to learn to manage your feelings of embarrassment and develop Confidence in Speaking. If you have a passion to share, you have a reason to develop your speaking skills. Speakers have many opportunities open to them to Advocate & Educate for a better tomorrow.
