The Covid Pandemic, now in 2022, has resulted in Lifestyle & Work-style Changes. Many of these changes are not temporary. Change brings new Challenges & new Opportunities. This is an opportunity to Advocate Confidently for Solutions in 2022. If “new Opportunities” resonates with you consider this: statistically, about 75% of Americans say their #1 Fear is “Fear of Speaking.” Yet, when I first started to follow “Fear of Speaking” stats in 2011, the stats were around 45-50%. What happened and Why is it important to You? Well, I don’t believe that people are more “fearful” now. I think the sampling & collection of the statistics is simply more comprehensive. But, whatever the reason for the uptick, if you’re in that 75±%, you’re limited by your “Fear of Speaking” and that Fear limits what you can accomplish. So,
Here’s a bit of Reality that I’ve witnessed: most of the people that have come thru my Workshops here in the US and in Japan, get over their Fear well enough to participate in Conversations of importance. Now, not everyone wants to stand in front of an audience of hundreds. Many simply want to participate with Confidence in discussions, meetings, business & social events. A pillar of my Workshop philosophy is this: Every verbal communication is a “Conversation”. You see, I had to confront my own “Fear” in order to function in my other profession which includes Acting in front of cameras, Hosting Live events & Educational Videos, and recording Voiceover scripts for major Corporations. I still deal with butterflies, anxiety, and stress but, I’ve learned to Confidently & Successfully…
perform in spite of it. I know it’s possible to overcome the resistance to participate in Conversations at Work, Home, your Community, the Nation. It’s a matter of You deciding that you want to Participate in creating Solutions for You, your Family, Community, whatever needs attention. The skills you want are available in many formats: Audio Books, Podcasts, Seminars, online Classes, pdf’s, etc. And yet, as of this writing in January 2022, in the US, the Fear of Speaking or Glossophobia, is at 75%. So, with all of those Resources, the majority of Americans still don’t Participate but Delegate… even if down deep they wish they could Participate. So, is there a Solution? Yes!
