Preparation is Key to Success

Preparation is Key to your Success at an Event.
?????

A Speakers Preparation is KEY to Success at an event. So here’s a bit of Advice: your Preparation might look something like this: Use this or that software, Powerpoint, Keynote or something else to create your slides & images. But be careful of the number of Words per slide, not too many it can be confusing… maybe no text at all, only an image. Or maybe an image with some text… that’s cool!, and the advice continues. It always continues as does the confusion it leaves behind, well there’s more…

How about your Font size & Color?  That too can make a big difference. Then there’s bullet-points: should you use them or maybe not??  … and if you do use them, how many per slide? and what kind of Bullet: star, dot, square? should it be the same color as the font…or not? Bigger, smaller…It gets pretty crazy after a while. And if it’s true that a Speakers Preparation is Key, then the place where it all begins and finally comes together is in Your Presentation. You! At this point it’s completely about YOU. So then, Why are so many Presentations considered uninteresting, even dreadful, by the Audience?

Well, sure there’s a library of guide books and websites with tons of “free” information available to you. But after all is said-and-done, generally, most Powerpoint shows fail to inspire, that’s correct. Powerpoint Presentations not only fail to inspire, they regularly are written off by the audience as a waste of time. Failing to inspire support, to make the sale, and not changing opinions. Yikes!! Just focus on the fact: A Speakers Preparation is Key to Success… so, do it well….do your Best.

With that in mind, you’d better get good at your verbal/image/video Presentation. And as a creative concept, I thought I’d toss in this interesting idea for you to consider:

Instead of preparing your next Presentation as a Presentation,
Prepare it as You would prepare a Speech. Hmmm, interesting idea,
but How does that work?
