“Times change and so do You” ~TjD
How do you Present yourself? For instance, if someone asked you “What do you do?” you might readily answer, I’m a Speaker or a Presenter or both. And of course if you were a professional Speaker/ Presenter, or that was one part of your work, then you’d be correct.
But take a moment and look critically at all the skills you bring to any event, professional, social, casual and you’ll see that, in fact, you’ve transcended that rather simplistic label. In reality, through your life & work, you’ve evolved, and consequently,
In reality, you’re more than a Speaker, a Presenter
or the Guy next door.
So in this Show we’ll look at…ways to further define your “Role as Speaker”. The fact is, “Speaker” is a very broad definition and in todays world of specifics you should consider being more specific about Who you are, What you deliver at an event, and Why you do it, or continue doing it.
In the process, you’ll discover that there are benefits to be gained by narrowly defining “Who You Are” as a Speaker. You’ll be more specific, more focused and this will assist you when preparing and designing a Speech or Presentation. The result: a better experience for your Audience, more targeted to their needs & wants, and too, a more successful event for you.
Remember, anyone can fall into a pattern of behavior as well as thinking, especially where self-evaluation is concerned. To reach your goals as a Speaker or Presenter requires energy, commitment, and skill. Don’t hide or gloss-over that fact, you’ve earned the right to be “Specific”… so enjoy the Benefits.
Be a Trusted Resource the Audience can believe in,
and you’ll be invited back.
