Stage Fright, Stress, Nerves, Anxiety = Resistance.
Speakers Solutions for Success is my response to the Staff at SuperSpeak, a Public Speaking Organization for Children, in Melbourne, Australia. They asked me to address a Question regarding handling speaking stress or anxiety experienced by many of the children in their organization. Initially I produced a video response. But upon completion of my video message, I decided to share it here with you too. So…
Speakers Solutions for Success is essentially some insight into Coaching new Speakers to overcome their Fear of Speaking. Stage Fright, Stress, Nerves, Sweaty Hands, Upset tummy. Physical & Emotional indicators connected to the Fear of Speaking.
Importantly, Speakers Solutions for Success can give You some perspective on your own Fear of Speaking. Take a moment. Compare How you handle your Fear of Speaking. Have you ever pinpointed the exact reason why you get nervous or resist any opportunity? If your participation is important to you, then know that you can Build Speaking Confidence. Yes, you can become a capable & confident & effective Speaker with some self-work.
Frankly, Teaching & Coaching has taught me that most people can overcome this “fearful” feeling. How? Well, You will improve by learning fundamental Speaking skills. Learning to use Speaking Skills in a supportive learning Workshop is Key.
Firstly, The Workshop environment will help You develop the Confidence to use the Skills you learn. Secondly, You will replace your focus on fearful feelings with a developed Confidence focused on using the new skills you’re learning. It really does work. You really can impact events. You actually can open doors of opportunity and impact the Solutions to issues you believe are important. Yes, It can be a bit difficult at times. But like any skill set, Speaking & Presenting can be learned. You evolve with your effort and a willingness to take some risks in a secure learning environment. You become a believer when you try, then see the real results that You’ve produced.
Consider this: if the young kids at Super Speak feel “Fear”, it’s likely that we all feel Fear to some degree. You & I, all of us, carry it with us from our childhood. So, What accounts for some people overcoming their feeling of FEAR? While others carry it throughout their adult lives? I can’t answer that with certainty. I do know for a fact that many, even most, people can learn to manage their resistance, their embarrassment. If I’m correct, the probability of Your success will remove a closed-door to a more successful & influential future for You. Isn’t that possibility worth a bit of effort on your part?
